About Sy Thai Cafe
Sy Thai Cafe is a thai restaurant in Birmingham, Michigan. It is listed at 315 Hamilton Row, Birmingham, MI 48009, which places it among the local businesses of Birmingham that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by. This group covers Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Indian and other Asian cuisines that are not Chinese, and the etiquette varies by kitchen. Japanese and Korean restaurants often take reservations for dinner and may add a service charge for large groups; Thai and Vietnamese spots are usually walk-in and quick-turnover. Spice levels are frequently adjustable on request at Thai, Indian and Sichuan-adjacent menus, so say if you want it mild or hot. Korean BBQ restaurants typically charge per person for all-you-can-eat service with a time limit, and grills are shared at the table. Vietnamese pho shops post bowl sizes (regular or large) and a plate of herbs, bean sprouts and lime is normal to add yourself. Card and tap-to-pay are widely accepted; cash-only is more common at small family-run counters.

What has happened to you guys? Since 2010, you used to be my FAVORITE Thai spot. Every birthday, friend meet up/ dinner before a movie, post store run took place at your Birmingham location. I never refer anyone to a place I wouldn't give a 10/10 to. Within the last couple of years, it seems your quality has just dwindled. My husband and I have a very busy Monday starting with hours long doctors appointments, errands and prepping for the week. We usually go for a walk to end the day, and Sy Thai sounded good. We get home and our noodles are literally like Frankenmuth Zehnder's butter noodles (no shade if that's your thing but I'm Asian and I need flavor). Literally, noodles and butter/oil. They are so dry, tasteless and taste like the tears of let down anticipation and misery once you hyped yourself up for a great meal to end the hectic day with. I do recall this not being the first time I've had this problem either. I'm glad to say Alex was very accommodating when I called, and gave us a credit but I must say, yall need to pick yourselves up out of whichever void you fell in and figure out what's going on because I don't want to go home and eat tears and disappointment. When considering all factors I rate this place a solid 4 stars. The customer service we received was great! Wait times, water refill, and overall approach was stellar. The atmosphere is about cookie cutter as any Thai place. The food portions were large and tasty. Iβd say the taste are more generic and will attract a bigger audience. The menu selection was larger than expected. It lacked a more authentic punch; not a bad thing as that might scare off a few. Based on the foot traffic we saw and the amount of to go orders pick up this looks like a popular place. I found the price points to be quite reasonable for Birmingham. Yes, Iβd give these guys a thumbs up and recommendation.

We ordered from here through door dash and it was the worst food order I have ever had. One of our items was completely missing. We asked for no peanuts and our order had peanuts. The worst thing though was that the chicken satay arrived raw. I have never had this happen in my life. We called the restaurant and they said there was nothing they could do because we ordered through door dash. Avoid this restaurant. We will never order from here again.

This is my favorite Thai restaurant in all of Birmingham. Solid lunch choices and even larger dinner portions all at wonderful prices. Super friendly staff that always goes the extra mile. I had the pad Thai with the Tom yum soup and spring rolls and it hit the spot as always. 5 star experience in my book and I will return soon.

Nice quaint little place downtown Birmingham. This Thai place is really delicious and praise worthy! Food is fresh and there is something for every diet, restriction and limited spice palate! The menu has a huge variety to pick from and if you see a dish you like, you can even personalize it by omitting an ingredient or adding ingredients. The waiter was very resourceful and knowledgeable to recommend dishes and heat level that we would like. Be prepared to feed the meter as itβs only 1 hour parking and youβll need to go back out to extend your time. Well worth it for the flavorful food you get!
